After
admiring Bare Minerals for quite some time, I finally decided to purchase two
products from their award winning Marvelous Moxie Lipcare Collection. Released
during mid-2013 this collection has quickly become a worldwide favourite for make-up
lovers and I was determined to see why!
I
purchased the best-selling Marvelous Moxie lipgloss first, to test how
effective I found the collection before investing in another expensive purchase,
(student loans only stretch so far) and I have to say I wasn't disappointed! I
chose the shade Dare Devil which promised a sparkling blackberry finish. I love
dark berry shades such as this due to them adding a daring edge to your normal
make-up routine, but this collection also features 17 other glossy shades for
you to try. The colour itself was so beautiful, radiating a glamorous, warm,
autumnal vibe, perfect for the winter! The shade was really pigmented too,
resulting in a rich berry finish. The only issue I had with this lipgloss was
the slightly overpowering glossy appearance, although the formula itself felt really
moisturising on my lips, I just found it a bit too shiny. So if you prefer a
more matte finish I would definitely ask for a sample or just test the display
product on your hand in store first so you can decide for yourself.
But
regardless of that slight issue this lipgloss has become a much loved (and
used!) edition to my make-up bag, so last week I purchased a matching lipliner, in the deep plum shade Electrified. These two products together are fab! The
dark tonal shade of the lipliner creates a subtle silhouette of the lips
enhancing their shape. While the lipgloss provides rich coverage, blending with
the lipliner to create a tonal effect on the lip edges. Plus the lipliner has a
rubber grip for precise application, saving beginners (such as me!) from
lipliner catastrophes!
